I am teaching through the Baptist Faith and Message with my church and this book is a great resource. It has given me great quotes and insights to share.

If you are a Baptist and want to know more of what the baptist church believes, specifically the southern baptist church, then this book is for you. I was raised in the United Methodist Church and not until I was in my adult years did I switch to the southern baptist church. I was aware of many of the beliefs of the baptist church before I switched, but not all of it in great detail. This book written highlights the many doctrines of the church. It also includes a commentary on each of them with review questions throughout.This has greatly helped me understand the stance of the southern baptist church.This book is written in plain english, but bible students can benefit greatly. Each section is laid out with Scriptural evidence, so you know it is biblically sound. Nothing can replace the Bible for studying what is to be believed. That said, if you want a commentary on different doctrines, you won't be disappointed.For anybody who is not a Baptist, this book can do one of two things. 1. It can help you understand the Baptist church and why they do what they do. 2. The points in this book are related to the Baptist Faith and Message, but really can be applied to any Christian. It's all biblical.

This was a gift for my son, who is a pastor. He was quite pleased to receive it.
